Cranfield School of Management18 Winners From Cranfield School Of Management Are Attending IBM HQ Next Month For Exclusive Recruitment Opportunities

Following the hugely successful IBM event held at Cranfield this month, students were invited to enter into an exciting competition for the chance to win an exclusive fieldtrip to IBM’s South Bank Headquarters.

The event at the start of May was hosted by IBM’s Senior Consultants Abhishek Pandey, Akshay Ketkar and Chaitanya Royyuru, along with Operations Strategy Leader Laura Winter, and Executive Partner Muktesh Ghatak. Together the sizeable team presented to Cranfield MBA and MSc students on corporate culture, career development, and the company’s inspirational journey from start-up to becoming the top global leader in business-to-business innovations.

Students were thrilled at the end of the talk when they were challenged to work in pairs to produce two presentation slides on how they would tackle hot corporate issues. The topics to choose from included the rebuilding of consumer trust, the optimisation of unit cost of operations, control and compliance with regulatory forces, and mergers and acquisitions.

Entries were submitted over the last two weeks after which an intense consolidation period began. IBM’s Senior Consultant Chaitanya Royyuru advised on the process, ‘Choosing the winners was a tough decision as we were very impressed with the quality and presentation. In the end, it was a combination of research, business insight and feasibility that defined the winning teams.’

The generous total of 9 winning teams was announced yesterday. They will each be greeted on 28th May by senior IBM professionals offering an afternoon of valuable insights and networking opportunities. During the sessions, Students will have the benefit of interacting directly with IBM’s senior partners and get an opportunity to seek more insight into life at IBM.

This is a great example of the benefits and opportunities produced from the new sector-specific events being run by Cranfield School of Management’s Career Development Service, and it also highlights the strong Cranfield alumni network that is keen to give back to the school and in turn forge relationships between Cranfield and global organisations.

Cranfield’s Business Development Manager Helen Chapman who oversaw the competition commented, ‘We would like to thank IBM and the team involved for providing this excellent recruitment opportunity to our students, and for their continual interest in our school.’
